This 1,500 word feature was created as part of my final multimedia project. I chose the Guardian supplement magazine as my target publication and style guide. I created the above layout using InDesign and a separate online version, edited to fit relevant search engine optimisation.

To go alongside this piece of work, I also created a short video interview with prison officer Lois Carpenter and expert in crime and gender, Madeline Petrillo. You can find this on my portfolio homepage.
I also created an audio piece exploring people’s opinions on whether women should or shouldn’t work in male prisons, I spoke to a male prison officer, a female community development worker from Kingston Prison and Leigh Bridle, a prisoner at HMP Lewes. Listen here.
And finally, I created an additional blog documenting the progress of this project, including my Freedom of Information request, correspondence with an American prisoner in Texas and my experience entering a men’s prison.
